How we work – a glimpse into the world of interior design
It can be hard to pinpoint where the essence of a beautiful design comes from. Inspiration comes from many sources, while each of our designers brings to the mix their own, individual style too. Above all, creating a new interior is about getting to know our client, weaving our ideas with theirs to create a beautiful home.
This is how the process unfolds …..
Briefing: First, we will have an informal meeting with the client, either at our London interior design showroom or at their home. This gives us the opportunity to get to know them better and to find out more about their lifestyle, enabling us to choose the best designer to work with them. This designer will also project manage the work, acting as a single point of contact, ensuring all goes smoothly and that communication is simple. *
Design: The designer will talk through the client’s ‘wish list’, their ideas and the styles they love. They will find out about their tastes – maybe favourite colours, fabrics or architectural styles. These are all ideas that seed the essence of a new design. The client is welcome to have as much, or as little input as they wish.
Presentation: Next we present the client with drawings and moodboards with ideas for the final design scheme, explaining our proposals and formalising budgets and fees. We may use images of furnishings, fabric swatches, paint colours or images of a particular architectural style or design detail. We might also source bespoke pieces that we feel the client will like, putting together an inventory of items so they can approve our choices and see how the budget is being spent. Step by step, we build a picture of their perfect interior.
